CIES 2018 Mexico City: Conference App, Presentation Tips,

and Schedule Changes

As the conference commences, we want to officially welcome everyone to CIES 2018 Mexico City! Below
are some important conference updates to consider regarding our mobile app, session formats,
and more.


Download TBM Engage Mobile App for CIES 2018

Our conference app is finally ready! If you haven't already, please download "TBM Engage."Once the app is installed on your device, you will be prompted to enter an “App Code”. The app code for your app is 
 cies2018. Upon entering this code, you will be guided to create an account that will allow you to access
our conference app. For more details, please click here.

If you are experiencing difficulties with the app, please contact right away and they will assist you.
Connect with Us!
Use the app to view the latest posts on our "Social Feed" or use the "Message Board" to engage with other
app users. Want to share your best photos at sessions or enjoying Mexico City? Post on our "Photo Wall."
However you join the conversation, be sure to tag your social media posts with our official conference


CIES 2018 Digital Hub

You can also keep up with the conference by visiting the Digital Hub, where you will be able to access new
daily contentResearch papers, videos, blogs, infographics, tool kits and much more. Check out the hub
and continue to follow it throughout the conference!


Presentation Tips

CIES 2018 has a variety of session formats. Here are some tips to help you get prepared:
  • Register with ample time before your presentation, so you can give yourself enough time to prepare.
  • Bring a flashdrive! The only things provided to presenters are projectors and laptops. 
  • You are responsible for your presentation contents.
  • Understand session formats if you are unfamiliar with them.
  • You may get the descriptions for each session type here.

Guidelines for Chairs

Chairs play an essential role in moderating panel sessions and ensuring their success. In addition to
carefully monitoring the time allowed for presentations, chairs typically offer a brief welcome and
moderate the Q&A discussion with the audience after the presentations. Click here for more information.

SIG chairs organizing sessions may also be able to contact participants beforehand. Simply log into 
AllAcademic, click on 'Main Menu,' then go to the ‘Submit a Proposal’ link, and select the ‘Participations’
tab. You should see ‘View’ on the right side. This will allow you to see the emails of the participants
in your sessions.


Schedule Changes

The New Scholars Essentials Workshop entitled "The Nuts and Bolts of Publishing" will take place on 
Monday, March 26, 2018 from 3 pm —4:30 pm (NOT on Thursday as it says in the front of the print

Additionally, #059. in the print program, entitled "Transnational Accreditation of Schools: Undermining or Transforming (National) Public Education Systems?", scheduled for 8:00 to 9:30 am, Building/Room: Hilton Reforma / Don Alberto 1 is now CANCELLED.
