"Internationalization,
From Kindergarten to Graduate School"
Michigan
State University will host the Midwest Regional Meeting
of CIES on campus 23-25 September 2005.As part of this
meeting, we will be organizing a series of special sessions
on Internationalization of teacher education and professional
development to discuss work done here at MSU with interested
colleagues from other colleges and universities. We
invite others to organize sessions along the same lines.
However, any of the topics which are typically presented
at regional or national CIES meetings will be welcomed
for presentation and discussion at this meeting (click
on call for proposals for details).
We
are also delighted that Professor Merry Merryfield of
the Ohio State University will be our keynote speaker.
She is one of the best-known authorities on internationalization
of K-12 education.
We
will also be entertained by the famous MSU College of
Education rock band which for years has been a hit at
the national AERA meetings. So bring your dancing shoes
and join us for a unique blend of scholarship and pleasure
amidst the beauties of fall on our park-like campus
on the banks of the Red Cedar River in East Lansing.
Related
meeting: The Midwest meeting of the Asian Studies Association
will
also be held on the MSU campus the same weekend. This
will enable scholars
with Asian interest to attend sessions at both meetings
if they wish. For
