Invitation for Nominations

 

for the

 

Gail P. Kelly Award for Outstanding Dissertation

 

 

Each year, the Comparative and International Education Society presents the Gail P. Kelly Award to the dissertation that, in the opinion of the Awards Committee:

 

·   fulfills the requirements of academic excellence; originality; and methodological, theoretical, and empirical rigor; and

·   deals with issues of social justice and equity in international or global context; these issues may include gender, race, class, ethnicity, and nationality, among others.

 

The CIES Awards Committee invites nominations and self-nominations for the Kelly Award.  To be eligible, dissertations must have been successfully defended between July 2004 and August 2005.

 

The deadline for submissions will be 1 November 2005.  Submissions must include a copy of the department/university approval of the dissertation.  This year, the Awards Committee will ask nominees to send copies of their dissertations electronically.
