The 49th annual meeting of the Comparative and International Education Society will be held next March 22-26, 2005 at Stanford University in California. Stanford is 30 miles south of San Francisco, in Palo Alto, and is served by both San Francisco and San Jose airports. The conference will be held on the Stanford campus. Palo Alto has many hotels and great restaurants.

The theme of the conference is "Beyond Dichotomies." We will be conducting a number of invited panels that address some of the most important issues in our field. At the same time, we urge all participants to give serious thought to their proposed papers this year and to use the conference to challenge theoretical and methodological stereotypes. We will do our best to make your experience at Stanford a memorable one.
