Applications are invited for a tenure-stream position at the rank of
Assistant Professor in Comparative Curriculum Studies at the Ontario
Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. The
appointment will be made in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and
Learning, which offers graduate programs in Curriculum and Second
Language Education, as well as teacher education programs in the Bachelor
of Education and Master of Teaching formats.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: a
doctoral degree; a strong program of international comparative research
and publication on teaching and/or curriculum in the developing world; and
a successful record of teaching experience. One or more of the following
qualifications would be an asset: elementary or secondary school teaching;
research relevant to matters of gender, linguistic and/or ethno-cultural
diversity; proficiency in international languages, and research
methodology.

Responsibilities of the position will include: teaching graduate courses;
supervising master’s and doctoral theses; teaching in the teacher
education program; and carrying out a program of research related to
curriculum in international settings. Salary will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience. The appointment will commence on July 1,
2005.
