Historian's Corner
The
Historian’s Corner builds on the work of
Elizabeth Sherman Swing, the Society’s first
Historian. It expands the Historian’s
responsibility to “Supervise the collection
of new documents [and] facilitate research
projects ... related to the archives of the
Society” by making crucial documents
relating to the history and functioning of
Comparative Education accessible to the
membership through the Society’s
website. The Historian’s Corner replaces the
“Documents and Papers” link on the CIES
website, placing the new link under the
direct supervision of the Society’s
Historian. The contents of the Historian’s
Corner will feature documents and papers
(especially the Constitution and Bylaws, as
amended) that may change from time to time.
The Society’s Historian will choose those
documents and papers for inclusion that
he/she believes are vital to sustain the
Society’s institutional memory and knowledge
of the profession generally.
▪ CIEclopedia:
Who's Who in Comparative and International
Education
CIEclopedia (http://cieclopedia.org)
is an online who's who database of
noticeable contributors to the field of
comparative and international education. By
adopting an agent-centric approach to
scholarship, we follow the life and works of
individuals who have pitched in their share
of developing a field that has evolved over
decades and throughout the world.
International in scope, CIEclopedia reflects
the diverse membership of the field and
their scholarship. We invite you to
contribute to this novel reflection of
active learners and educators in comparative
and international education studies; your
submissions will be a valuable service to
past, present, and future generations in our
field.
