CIES-UREAG Travel Grant for CIES 2012 Conference
We invite you to apply for the UREAG-CIES Travel Grant for CIES 2012 in Puerto Rico. Each year CIES Board makes available a limited stipend for awards to UREAG- CIES members presenting papers at the annual conference.

CIES International Travel Award for Service in Educational Reform
We are pleased to announce that a total of fifteen grants of $1,000 each will be awarded this year for the 2012 conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Additional information, including application guidelines can be found in the formal announcement avaliable here.

The conference will feature some high profile speakers and an opportunity to present papers in a great intellectual environment, to mix with the large contingent of comparative and international education students at Stanford, and enjoy Northern California in the fall. The 2011 CIES Eastern Regional Conference will be held October 28-29 at the University of Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The theme for this conference is "The Transformative Role of Education for a More Inclusive World." Additional information can be found on the conference website.

Please note that “According to the CIES Constitution, one member of the board of directors is required to be a student. That position was vacated this past year. This election is to fill the vacated position The winner of the election will complete the remainder of the current term, which expires in 2012.”

CIES Forum
Dear CIES members,
We have created an online forum for you to post comments on CER articles or other items (2 Million Minutes Documentary, Jackie Kirk's Tribute, Steve Klees' Presidential Address). Please note that you need to register to access the forum (this is a security measure so our forum remains free from spam). The forum registration steps are as follows:
1. Visit the forum (www.cies.us/forum) and sign up.
2. An email will be sent to the Secretariat office, where your application will be validated
3. Another email will be sent to you with your user name and password
4. Once your account is activated, you will be able to log on to the forum and post/read other members’ reactions in "CIES General Discussions"
