Announcements

To CIES Members:

As the newly elected leadership for the Underrepresented Racial, Ethnic and Ability Groups (UREAG) Committee, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us in our listserv discussion about the future of UREAG. In particular, we wish to explore possible future directions for the committee as a whole as well as ways to build a supportive membership base and remain active and visible in the CIES community. We feel that the listserv will be vital to this effort. In the coming years, we hope to be active in recruiting participants from HBCUs, tribal colleges and universities, and organizations for exceptional individuals in order to increase the participation of people from underrepresented groups and establish a broader applicant base for the UREAG travel grants to serve. We are also excited about including outreach to increase the participation of LGBTQIA people and research topics in future UREAG Committee work with CIES. We hope that this list will serve as a discussion forum, and it is open for anyone to subscribe and post messages. If you are interested in joining the listserv:

  1.   Send an email to listserv@listserv.uga.edu
  2.   The subject line should read “subscribe UREAG”
  3.   Please be sure to include your first and last name
  4.   Alternately, you may send an email to ureag@cies.us with the subject attn: UREAG Secretary and the requested information

Thank you,

UREAG Leadership Team
