Emily Vargas-Barón
Dr. Emily Vargas-Barón is the Director of the Institute for Reconstruction and International Security through Education (The RISE Institute). She has consulted in over 50 nations in the fields of early childhood and educational policy, programs and evaluation research. She is currently working on several projects involving policy planning in West/Central Africa and Latin America; how national ECD programs have achieved scale; and improvement of ECD programs for vulnerable children in developing nations. Her research interests include ECD policy analysis and finance; comparative program evaluations; education during and after conflicts.
Dr. Vargas-Barón has a Ph.D. in Anthropology, Associate in SIDEC from Stanford University. She is a US national and speaks English, Spanish and French.
