o       Facilitate call for proposals, proposal review process, faculty mentors

o       Create and manage database to hold proposals

o       Coordinate travel stipends, luncheon, and other logistics

·        Website/Technology Committee

o       Maintain the CIES New Scholars website

o       Add new materials as necessary

 Planning Meetings

An open meeting for all interested new scholars to discuss the status, goals, and future of the CIES New Scholars Committee was held during the 2007 CIES Annual Conference in Baltimore, Maryland following Vandra Masemann and Sandi Stacki’s panel on “Academic Stress and Family Life.”  A planning meeting will also be scheduled during the 2008 CIES Annual Conference in New York, New York.
