Faculty Position: Visiting Associate Professor, International and Comparative Education

Description: Teachers College, Columbia University, is seeking a one-year Visiting Associate Professor of International and Comparative Education to teach and advise graduate students in its Programs in Comparative and International Education and International Educational Development.  The position includes the possibility of housing in faculty accommodations. 

Duties: Teaching responsibilities include four courses per year in education and strategic planning, education and demographic change, and research methods for international development.  Advisement responsibilities include working with master’s students on thesis projects and with doctoral students on research proposals and dissertations.  Research responsibilities include maintaining an active research program in an area of relevance to the position. 

Qualifications:  Applicants should have a doctorate in international and comparative education, political science, sociology, or a related discipline.  Research experience in international development, especially in Africa, Asia (West, Central, East), or Europe, is preferred.  We also seek evidence of exemplary teaching, advisement, and scholarly publications.
