Announcing a Call for Proposals for

An International Conference on Educational Leadership in Cultural Diversity and Globalization, April 8-10, 2008, Phuket, Thailand

The Prince of Songkla University, Pattani, Faculty of Education, and the University of Missouri-Columbia, College of Education, Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, along with Fulbright, SEAMEO, UNESCO, and the Thai Council of Deans of Education, is pleased to invite scholars, teachers, students, and policymakers from education, government and related private sectors to register and/or submit proposals for this exciting conference. The conference will provide an opportunity for participants to have shared understanding and to develop new knowledge based on their learning experience. Professors, teachers, researchers, and education workers at all levels are invited to submit papers/presentations on these topics.

1. Educational Leadership in Cultural Diversity, Higher, Secondary, Elementary Education

2. Education in Globalization, Technology Innovation and New Learning Environment

3. Leadership in Peace Education

Conference Goals:

To serve as a forum for international and Thai educators to share their knowledge and experiences on educational leadership roles working with communities for positive change in areas of cultural diversity and globalization.
To implement knowledge management strategies to create a community committed to cultural diversity and globalization
To help educational academicians, researchers and other professionals understand and appreciate diverse cultures in order to bring about social reconciliation
To develop and establish networks at local and international levels to help to establish peace and security

Place: Phuket, Thailand is world renowned as the “Pearl of the Andaman Sea” for its clean white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue sea. The conference will be held at Phuket Graceland Resort & Spa which overlooks the Andaman Sea.
