Faculty Position - Comparative and Higher Education
Associate or Full Professor in Comparative and Higher Education

The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy in the Graduate School of Education at the University at Buffalo seeks a faculty member to fill a vacancy serving both the Comparative Education and Higher Education programs. The appointment is for Fall 2006. Salaries at UB are most competitive at all levels.

Primary consideration will be given to nationally/internationally recognized senior scholars with demonstrated expertise and scholarly agendas that broadly focus on important topics related to comparative higher education

Description of Duties

• Teaching and advisement: Develop and teach graduate courses in comparative and higher education. Strengthen the existing preparation of graduate students. Advise masters and doctoral students and supervise doctoral dissertations.
• Research: Maintain a strong record of scholarship. Maintain a commitment to securing external funds to support scholarly inquiry.
• Coordinate: Direct the internationally recognized Center for Comparative and Global Studies in Education.

Minimum Qualifications

• An earned doctorate in higher education, comparative education, social foundations, educational policy, or a closely related field and qualifications suitable for appointment to the rank of at least Associate Professor with tenure.
• Demonstrated research productivity. Preferences will be given to candidates with a track record of sponsored research activity.
• Expertise in and the ability to teach courses in both Comparative and Higher Education.
