Educational Content Specialist - Sesame Street Indonesia Project,
Position Opening at Sesame Workshop, New York
EDUCATIONAL CONTENT
SPECIALIST, SESAME STREET- INDONESIA
Reporting
to the Director of Education and Research, this position supports the Education
and Research activities of the Sesame Street Indonesia Project; in
particular, assisting in the development and execution of the project’s
educational plan and coordinating educational content activities.
POSITION PROFILE:
- Help oversee educational content development and
implementation on Sesame Street Indonesia project
- Train Indonesian education and research team in script
review process (scripts, treatments, and rough edits of new material) and
provide feedback on educational messaging, as needed
- Collaborate with production team on issues of
developmental appropriateness, curriculum goals, format, story lines,
characters and scripts and other materials created for the project
- Supervise development of project curriculum and support
materials
- Assist in conceptualizing formative research questions,
designing research measures, and checking and reviewing analyses of
quantitative data
- Edit/write reports
- Work with Indonesia-based Education and Research team
to locate project advisors and organize & execute meetings to
develop educational content and materials for the project
- Adapt English language materials for use in Bahasa
Indonesia
9. Serve as an internal
resource to Sesame Workshop staff on questions related to
Education and Research aspects of the Sesame Street Indonesia
project
10. Execute special projects, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate degree in developmental psychology, education,
or related field
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of child development and some experience
teaching or conducting research with children.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Experience working in international projects.
- Strong technical skills (excellent working
knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,etc).
- Working knowledge of statistical software such as SPSS.
- Strong writing skills.
- Ability to collboarte with a team of professionals from
diverse professional backgrounds.
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia.
