The CIES Peace Education Special Interest Group

 

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

 

The CIES Peace Education Special Interest Group would like to invite you to submit proposals to form the Peace Education SIG panels at the 2007 Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) Conference to be held February 25 - March 1, 2007 in Baltimore, MD. This year’s Peace Education SIG theme is:

                                                                                        

The Dialogues of Civilizations: A New Paradigm for Global Peace

 

This theme complements the CIES conference theme of ˇ°Engaging our Differences.ˇ± You are welcome to submit a proposal on the building of cross-cultural understanding and respect, the Middle East conflicts and educational solutions, and alternative paradigms to construct new mindsets and awareness. Papers on creative programs/efforts, and those linking peace with environmental survival, and other relevant topics are also welcome.

 

Please submit your proposal by November 1, 2006. You must be a CIES member to present at the conference and be a SIG member to present on a SIG panel. SIG panels receive preference in scheduling if they are submitted by Nov. 15. Please include the following information:
