                                   INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION


The Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) invites applications for
one or two junior faculty positions in International Education and
Development, with a rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or
Lecturer, depending on qualifications. (At HGSE, Lecturers are individuals
with extensive professional experience and a primary commitment to
practitioner preparation programs.)

Requirements include a doctorate in education, in public policy, or in a
social science discipline, and a record of education-related empirical
scholarship with an explicit comparative or international emphasis,
including issues related to elementary or secondary education in developing
countries.

Topical areas of interest include but are not limited to assessment of
student knowledge and skills, evaluation of educational initiatives,
effective strategies for teaching particular subjects to disadvantaged
populations, and survey design and demography, including immigration.

The selected candidate(s) will be expected to teach and advise students in
the International Education Policy Master's program and doctoral students
with international research interests.

2005, and continue until the position or positions are filled. Applicants
