PURPOSE

The Africa SIG aims to develop an active and vibrant scholarly community that encourages and assists critical inquiries into Africa Educational issues.  ASIG gears its efforts towards scholarly exchanges and deliberation between, amongst, and for African, Africanist scholars and other interested parties. These formal and amicable grounds for discussion set the stage for the inquiry and presentation of current and relevant educational research, as well as developmental issues in the Continent.

     Mission

  • Collaboration
  • Networking
  • Facilitate peer support
  • Encourage critical inquiry
  • Foster innovative and cutting-edge research
  • Provide opportunities for scholarly engagement: publication, review, mentoring

ASIG explicitly adopts a broad and inclusive definition of who can participate in its activities as such; does not limit its interests and activities to a narrowly defined scope of what consists Africa Educational Research.
